Friday Favorites

Happy Halloween weekend!

I'm REALLY excited about Halloween this year! Spencer and I can't wait to dress up Robby for his very 1st Halloween!

We have lots of fun plans! Depending on the weather here in Austin (it's been flooding and tornadoes!) we may carve pumpkins tonight or tomorrow. I like to carve OUTSIDE! And tomorrow we are going to my in-laws house to have appetizers, frito pie, dessert, and lots and lots of...

...CANDY!!

I can't wait to see all of your Halloween photos and costumes!!

In the meantime, here's a list of my Friday Favorites!

Hellooooo pumpkin spice creamer!

On rainy/bad weather days like today, I can't make a Starbucks run when I'm craving a PSL. Sad, sad, sad...

Luckily, Nestle Coffee Mate makes a Pumpkin Spice creamer and boy is it good! I don't compare it to my Starbucks PSL's because NOTHING in this world compares to those babies...however, this is pretty yummy. I'm not a sweet creamer girl. I'm pretty devoted to my plain half & half. But every so often I want a sweet cup...and this is one of my favorites. Try it if you haven't!

I love kids crafts! I think they're adorable. I can't wait until Robby is old enough to make me some crafts!

This cute little pumpkin happens to be made from my cute, cute, CUTE nephew, Triston. He came over yesterday and went to the pumpkin patch with Robby, Spencer, and me. Before we went to the pumpkin patch we had popcorn for a snack and made a pumpkin craft.

This little pumpkin was made with such love so today (and always) it will be one of my most favorite pumpkins ever.

I don't really need to say much about Adele's new song. But...HELLO! It's good! Pun intended...

I was unsure about the song at first (I know, go ahead a gasp!) but it quickly grew on me.

Go listen to it if you haven't...Hello by Adele. It's some good listening.

Ok, y'all. If you're a candle woman like me, and you spend WAY too much money on Bath and Body Works candles, this is for you...

I came across this candle line at Walmart recently and boy was my life forever changed...

719 Walnut Avenue is a new line at Walmart that's almost identical to the 3-wick B&BW candles. These Walmart candles are $4.97 and the B&BW candles are about $20+ each!!

Holy bargain!!

These candles smell UH-MAZING and last a long time.

Try out these candles next time you're at Walmart.

You're welcome.

Last but certainly not least...I've been LOVING this quote lately. I have no idea where it's from or whose it is. But I'm living by this lately.

Well that's all for today's Friday Favorites. I hope you enjoyed reading them! I can't wait to read all of yours.

Have a FUN Halloween Eve!

Family Fun at the Pumpkin Patch!

Last night was sweet! We decided to take family trip to the local pumpkin patch. Hello, fun!!

It was Robby's very first trip to the pumpkin patch, and boy was he in sensory overload! He loved looking at all of the pretty pumpkins (and I did, too!). Trying to get him to smile in the photos was almost impossible- he was so distracted by all of the people and pumpkins that he wasn't interested in laughing at mommy. I tried! :)

Having a baby now and family is so much fun! I'm so excited to start so many traditions!

I've got the cutest little pumpkin in all the patches in the whole world!

 Those blue eyes! I mean...ahhhh.

I can't even deal with all this cuteness! I mean, how did I get so blessed?!?

This man is the best daddy in the whole entire world...
And he's pretty cute too! ;)

I am one blessed mommy!
I didn't know I could love someone as much as I love this baby boy. My heart grows bigger every day.

And we had one special little boy join us on our pumpkin patch trip...Triston!

Robby loves cousin Triston!
Sometimes I think they look alike. Both so very handsome!

And that wraps up our pumpkin patch trip! I can't wait for many more trips to the pumpkin patch in the upcoming years with these boys! I also can't wait to carve some pumpkins and take Robby Trick-or-Treating this weekend... :)

I love my little family sooooo much.

Love from the Green's...

Have a super duper Friday, friends!!

Robby's 1st Baby Cereal!

Our sweet Robby turned 4 months old yesterday! Yay! This is been the best 4 months of our lives!

Lately, after five or six 6oz bottles everyday, Robby wasn't seeming satisfied some of the day so I decided as soon as he is 4 months old, I'm going to start him on oatmeal. I know doctors say you can start solids between 4-6 months, with 6 months being the recommended age. However, us mama's know our babies and know what's best! So the day he turned 4 months old, I gave him oatmeal.

I think daddy and mommy were more excited for Robby to try oatmeal than he was, lol!

So since I will be making all of Robby's food, we, of course, had to make a Target and Sprouts (and Starbucks!) run for a grinder and some organic steel cut oats.

Robby's 2nd trip to Target!

When we got back from Starbucks, Target, and Sprouts, I ground up the organic oats in the coffee grinder (works like a charm!) and mixed it with a little formula so it was really soupy. Easy peasy.

Here's daddy and Robby before Robb'y 1st bite.

Ok, here we go... 1st bite of cereal for Robby!

Just look at that cute face!

Haha! At first, Robby wasn't sure what to think! Hence the funny face picture...

But after he tried a few bites, he really started enjoying the oats!

Not sure what to think about that cool spoon!

Overall, I think Robby's first baby cereal experience was a success! We also tried some for breakfast this morning! He made the funny faces at first but quickly adapted to the strange texture and enjoyed about a whole tablespoon!

We all had a lot of fun with this special moment last night and are excited to start trying a vegetable in the next 3 weeks or so!

 Oatmeal kisses are delicious!!

 I LOVE my little family!

We are so excited for Robby to try lots of yummy foods in the upcoming months! Stay tuned for more...

 xoxo,

God has Big Plans

I have lots and lots of favorite scriptures, but Jeremiah 29:11 is my absolute FAVORITE scripture of ALL time. I have loved this scripture ever since I was a little girl. To me, this scripture has so much meaning. It's deep. And it's very special to me.

Often times, we aren't sure what our next chapter in life is going to be- what are we going to do with our futures or where we will be in 5 years?

I'm a major planner. I like to plan things out and I usually have my days planned every morning, my weeks are always planned in advanced, and most of the time my months are planned out too. I'm a very structured person so I like to know what's going to happen when, where, and what time.

If you're anything like me, not knowing what my future holds is kind of nerve-racking. I wish God would tell me what his plans are for me in 5 years, 10 years, and even 20 years down the road. If he would just tell me, I would be super prepared. ;)

However, that's not exactly how God works. God works on His time, not our time. And even though I don't know what is going to happen 5, 10, or 20 years down the road, I do rest in knowing that God has a "plan" and a "hope" and "future" for me. If it wasn't for Jeremiah 29:11 I would probably be really extremely stressed out.

There are so many things in life I want to do, achieve, and accomplish. Knowing The Lord is on my side and my life is planned out JUST how HE wants it to go, is very comforting. He knows what he's doing and I don't. He has the whole world in his hands. Literally. He has your future, my future, our children's future already planned out.

Sometimes if things don't go as I plan them to, I get stressed or worried. But then I have to tell myself "that's not what God intended for my life, so I must follow His lead and be patient".

Lately, life hasn't gone 100% as planned (my plans) and that's ok. All I have to do is place my trust in God and be comforted by the fact that He knows what He's doing and everything is going to be ok.

So when you're worried about things not happening your way, or your future, or your families  futures, just know that God has better plans. And his plans for our lives far outweigh our plans for our lives.

GOD HAS A PLAN FOR YOU.

XOXO,
Erica

About Me

Hi! I'm Erica! Here's a peek into my life!

I'm a wife to a hottie, a mama to one sweet baby boy and two fur babies. I am so madly and deeply in love with Jesus and I strive to serve Him every single day. I'm a Starbucks drinking fool, I love the Texas Rangers, and I believe laughter is the best medicine.

I could watch Scandal all. day. long. if I had the time. I love to be healthy and working out. ha! just kidding about the working out... I love cooking, baking, and keeping a tidy and well-organized home!

I also love to decorate, plan/host parties, candles, antiques, 1940's music, and the holidays!
